You are at a networking event and you know immediately those people who exude a positive impact. They light up the room when they enter it. They have an energy that surrounds them. People are drawn to them and want to listen to what they say.
People who can network with impact can quickly relate to others, they can build empathy with them and often exhibit a high level of emotional intelligence. They come across as curious and genuinely interested in what others have to say. And in networking all these characteristics are needed to be effective as a networker.
Networking is all about relationship building, be that at first introduction or continuing that relationship for months, or years down the line. And having a positive impact really does help you stand out and be memorable.
