How a smile influences how you are perceived
Andrew Finlay talks about how a smile can be such a simple yet highly powerful influencer of behaviour change.
‘People judge us on our behaviours, so to have a more positive impact we can smile. When we smile not only do people see us as more reliable, attractive, sincere and relaxed, but when we smile we fire up those feel-good neurotransmitters in our brains that make us feel calm and confident.
When we smile people see us differently. When somebody returns our smile we make a connection.
So practice your smile. The next five people you meet, smile twice as much as you normally would, and see what the result is.
Go on, give us your best, authentic smile!’
